Getting Started
General information about RAD/ED and our Mini-Fellowships.
What are RAD/ED Mini-Fellowships?
Our Mini-Fellowships combine guided, practical learning to help you assess and report musculoskeletal (MSK) and spine MRI in your daily work. We teach radiologists, pain physicians, rheumatologists, orthopaedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians and other healthcare professionals.
We guide you through the anatomy, pathology and scans using clear explanations, images, diagrams, videos and DICOM cases. You can scroll through and assess the cases just as you would at work, and ask questions and clarify doubts at any time. We show you where to look, what to look for, how to recognise important findings and how to describe them in a clear, concise report.
Who can enrol in a RAD/ED Mini-Fellowship?
Our Mini-Fellowships are intended for healthcare professionals with an interest in musculoskeletal or spine imaging.
Participants include consultant and trainee radiologists, rheumatologists, orthopaedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians and other healthcare professionals involved in MSK and spine imaging.
The courses are not open to the general public.
What level of MRI experience do I need?
Our Mini-Fellowships are primarily designed for healthcare professionals with beginner to intermediate experience in musculoskeletal or spine MRI.
You learn where to look, how to recognise important findings and how to describe them clearly in your reports.
If you have already completed a formal MSK or spine MRI fellowship, or have substantial reporting experience, our standard Mini-Fellowships may not be appropriate for your level.
However, if you are beginning a formal MSK or spine fellowship, our Mini-Fellowships can help you build your knowledge in a short time and get much more out of your formal fellowship.
If you’re unsure, please contact us at assist@radedasia.com to discuss whether a course is suitable for you.
What’s the difference between Online and On-site Mini-Fellowships?
Whether you learn online or on-site, you learn how to assess scans and produce clear, confident reports for your daily work.
Our Online Mini-Fellowships are 30-day guided courses featuring structured learning, multiple DICOMs that you can scroll and assess and opportunities to ask questions and clarify any doubts. Throughout the course, we guide you in developing your MRI interpretation and reporting skills.
Our On-site Mini-Fellowships provide in-person learning with hands-on DICOM viewing on your own workstation, teaching and direct discussion with Dr Ravi and other specialists. On-site Mini-Fellowships will recommence in 2027.
Online Mini-Fellowships
Guided online learning, schedules and course access.
How long is an Online Mini-Fellowship?
Our Online Mini-Fellowships are 30-day guided courses, with new courses starting every month.
During the 30 days, we take you through structured teaching, multiple DICOMs and quizzes to help you develop your knowledge, interpretation and reporting skills.
Throughout the course, you can ask questions, clarify doubts and receive answers directly from Dr Ravi.
How much time should I set aside each day?
We recommend setting aside around 30–45 minutes most days for your learning.
On weekends, try to spend some additional time reviewing what you’ve covered during the week.
The more consistently you engage with the course, the more you’ll get out of it. A little time each day makes a real difference.
What do you mean by guided learning?
We don’t believe in simply giving you learning materials and leaving you to figure everything out yourself.
We guide you through MRI cases, showing you where to look, what to look for, how to recognise important findings and how to word your report.
Can I ask questions during the course?
Absolutely. Asking questions and clearing doubts is an important part of how we teach.
Our courses include a Q&A feature that allows you to ask questions as you learn. No question is too small. We want you to understand what you’re seeing and feel confident about your interpretation.
You can also ask questions in your preferred language through our multilingual Q&A feature.
How are the Online Mini-Fellowships taught?
We use a combination of concise teaching posts, diagrams, explanatory videos and graphics, full DICOM cases and quizzes to help you understand and retain what you’ve learned.
You’ll work through MRI cases that you can scroll like you would at work, learn how to recognise important findings and develop a structured approach to reporting.
You can also ask questions and clarify doubts through our course Q&A feature, with answers provided by Dr Ravi.
When can I start an Online Mini-Fellowship?
Our Online Mini-Fellowships start each month.
Everyone in your monthly group starts together and works through the course at the same time.
This allows you to benefit not only from your own questions but also from the questions asked by other participants. Often, someone else will ask something you hadn’t thought of, helping everyone learn and develop their understanding.
Check the course page for the exact start date.
How long will I have access to my Online Mini-Fellowship?
You will have access to your Online Mini-Fellowship for six months from the course start date.
We guide you through the teaching during the first 30 days. For the rest of your six-month access, you can revisit lessons, review DICOM cases and continue asking questions.
We are also developing an option to extend your course access beyond the initial six months. Further details will be provided once this becomes available.
