spine mri incidental findings parotid mass

SPINE MRI INCIDENTAL FINDINGS

  • There is a mass in the deep lobe of the left parotid (We don’t have Histology as yet).

  • The key here is noticing the asymmetry between the left and right (Green arrow) lobes.

  • Even though its obvious and large, it's still easy to miss if you don’t look specifically at the periphery of a scan.

  • My routine is to look at the periphery of the scan before I focus on the spine itself so that I don’t forget to look and miss lesions.

Asymmetry of the region of the deep lobe of the left parotid (Pink arrow) compared to the right lobe (Green arrow) which is normal.
