SPINE & SIJ ARTHRITIS AND SPONDYLOARTHRITIS IMAGING ONLINE GUIDED MINI FELLOWSHIP

Learn Spine MRI: In our updated SPINE & SIJ IMAGING FOR SPONDYLOARTHROPATHIES AND ARTHRITIS GUIDED ONLINE COURSE, we will cover the common abnormalities we see in reporting, focusing on how we assess a scan at work … Where to Look, What to Look for, and How to Confidently Report.

This Mini-Fellowship is a combined Radiology Rheumatology Course with Dr Joe Thomas, a Senior Consultant Rheumatologist with extensive clinical experience. Whilst we will focus on Imaging, Dr Thomas will bring the very important clinical aspect which will determine, how we interpret and report a scan, and he will help us to know what the Rheumatologist wants from our reports.

The focus of this course, like all our courses, is for you to be More Confident in making a diagnosis and to put out a much Better reports. We make sure you understand the detailed and complex radiological anatomy of the Spine, essential to an accurate diagnosis. We also cover the macroscopic pathology of abnormalities in all our Mini Fellowships, which not many radiologists do, but I have found it makes understanding and reporting the imaging easier.

All our mini fellowships are Guided. Being able to ask questions and clear doubts is very important in your learning and you can ask questions to clarify doubts or get more information at any stage and Dr Ravi will answer them.

Through these workshops we aim to make you More Confident with your Diagnosis, put out Clear Reports and to have your reports and findings Respected by Clinicians.

Currently, this course is available in English (More languages coming soon).

Some Questions You May Have

In this course, we will review the different arthropathies that affect the spine and sacrum, including ankylosing spondylitis, seronegative spondyloarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other arthropathies that compromise the spine and sacroiliac joints (SIJ). We will review the anatomical structures we need to recognize, the pathology and how it develops, because macroscopic pathology is key to understanding what we see in the images. Next, we will look at where to look, what to look for in the MRI and, finally, how to capture it in a report.

As in all our courses, it is guided: we have videos of the different pathologies that explain what they look like and where to look for them. You will also be able to ask questions at any time to clarify any doubts; they can be imaging or clinical, and Dr Thomas will answer them.

As in all our courses, you will have numerous DICOMs available so that you can put what you have learned into practice. It is an eminently practical, not theoretical, course, whose objective is to reproduce what you will do at work. If you think this could be useful in your daily work, we invite you to join Dr Thomas and me in this combined Mini Fellowship in Rheumatology and Imaging (Radiology) in spinal arthritis and SIJ.

In this MRI Fellowship on spinal arthritis, we are fortunate to have the valuable participation of Dr Joe Thomas, senior rheumatologist and head of the department. With arthritis, it is essential to integrate the perspectives of both the rheumatologist and the imaging specialist, as these views must be analyzed together.

Who's Teaching

DR RAVI PADMANABHAN. Dr Ravi is the Director of Radiology Education Asia, originally from Australia and now based in Singapore. He works in MSK and Spine MRI, CT and Ultrasound Imaging and Intervention. He has been teaching MSK and Spine MRI for over 15 years with the aim of increasing your confidence in assessing and reporting scans and not just gathering facts.

DR JOE THOMAS. We are really happy to have Dr Joe Thomas, Senior Consultant Rheumatologist and Head of the Rheumatology Department at Aster Hospital in Kochi India join us in teaching and answering questions. He has vast clinical experience and will give you the clinical perspective. In Rheumatology where the clinical input makes a very big difference to the interpretation and reporting of the imaging, Dr Thomas’s input will help us better interpret the scans and know what Rheumatologists want from our reports.
