COSTO TRANSVERSE DEGENERATION

 

Quick look at the CT findings in costovertebral joint degeneration another potential source of back pain.

 

Loss of joint space, subcortical sclerosis and cortical irregularity (Pink arrows) at both costo transverse joints and are potential pain generators. Costo vertebral joints (Green arrows) are normal. Patient had no history of axial spondyloarthriti.
