What to Look for, Where to Look and How to Best Report it.

RHEUMATOLOGY AND RADIOLOGY: Welcome to our page on Imaging Arthritis, Rheumatology Ankylosing Spondylitis where all our Rheumatology and Arthritis imaging posts will be available. These posts are for both Rheumatologists and Radiologist and all our posts and workshops in Imaging Rheumatology are done together with Dr Joe Thomas Senior Consultant Rheumatologist and Head of Department.

Through these posts and workshops we aim to make you More Confident with your Diagnosis, put out Clear Reports and to have your reports and findings Respected by Clinicians.

Why does a Rheumatologist need to know about imaging?
Because your radiologist may not have an interest or enough experience in Rheumatology MRI and Imaging. And whilst you are not expected to look at a scan in the same detail as a radiologist, you should have a working knowledge of the basic MRI sequences used, what type of signal you should look for and its meaning and have a structured way to assess a scan so that you can find the relevant abnormalities and also have an informed discussion with the radiologist on their report.

Apart from the imaging findings,  an important part of the learning is the radiological anatomy, essential to an accurate diagnosis and the macroscopic pathology of abnormalities which makes understanding, finding and reporting the scans easier.

Very helpful workshop, where I was able to clear many of my doubts. Clear picture of anatomy which is helpful in reporting is the main key for this course. Thanks to Dr. Ravi and team to take such a great effort.
